Practice Areas IMGBarefoot Family Law handles all areas of family law. Meaningful answers to questions about divorce, its financial impact and the impact upon your children require the assistance of an experienced attorney who understands the law and has the judgment to properly apply the law to the unique facts of your family’s specific situation. We are responsive to your calls and we listen so that we can understand who you are and the details that make your situation unique, which enables us to develop the best solution for you and your family.

Divorce is challenging and often difficult. Our initial goal for the people that choose Barefoot Family Law is to help them understand their rights and obligations by providing objective advice based on over 25 years in combined experience that our attorneys have in practicing family law. Both Caldwell and Mariana are North Carolina Board Certified Specialists in Family Law. In our years of practice, Caldwell and Mariana have litigated challenging high-conflict cases involving high-income families with substantial marital estates and they have handled cases where the parties are amicable and desire to work together towards a fair and efficient resolution – and cases of most every kind in between. Every family and individual we represent is important to us. Regardless of your particular circumstances or the practice area for which you are seeking assistance, we treat everyone with concern and respect and will be an effective advocate both in and out of the courtroom, making every effort to obtain a result that meets the goals we have agreed upon.

In addition to handling mediations on behalf of his own clients, Caldwell also serves regularly as a mediator for other attorneys and their clients and has handled in excess of 150 mediations in his role as a mediator.
